Alphan Manas


Born in Izmir on July 30, 1962.Completed Ankara Primary School, Karsiyaka Middle School and Atatrk High School in Izmir.Graduated from the Department of Textile Engineering of Ege University in 1983.Received his Master's degree in "Production Management" from the State University of New York (SUNY) in 1987.Worked as Production Manager in New York factory of Tenba in 1986.Returned to Turkey in 1987 as Country Manager of Colonial Corp. a subsidiary of Vicks Corp. a Fortune 500 company, sourcing apparel to major retailers in USA including Sears, K-Mart and JC Penny.

Co-founded Exim in 1987, first company of Teknoloji Holding, an AI-DC (Automatic Identification and Data Collection - later called Internet of Things) total solutions provider. Besides being a shareholder, held General Manager post for 10 years. Went to Harvard Business School in 1994 for OPM (Owners and Presidents Management) Program. From 1997 and on, he co-founded all of Teknoloji Holding's full subsidiaries, including: Planet (EFT-POS total solution provider and distributor of Ingenico), Universal Kredi Kartlari Hizmetleri (third party credit card Issuing and acquiring services provider). Also served as Executive Board Member in JV's of Teknoloji Holding, including: Mobicom (1999 - Mobile Data Operator before GPRS existed), CPG (2000 - An Ericsson JV, to market Ericsson's switch-boxes in Turkey and MENA area) and mPay (2001 - Mobile payment services provider)

Co-chaired Teknoloji Holding for 18 years, personally supervised the business and market development activities of the group.In February 2006, ended his shareholding in Teknoloji Holding, took along 7 companies and established Brightwell Holdings BV, headquartered in the Netherlands.Led and participated in several important infrastructure projects in Turkey at the government level and assisted state organizations in the drafting of bills, communiques and decrees. Such projects included the Bar Coding of Pharmaceuticals, the Electronic Toll Collection System and 1997 Census Project.Became Turkish Chapter of World Future Society in 2004.Became the founder and board member of World Business Council for Sustainable Development in 2004 and held this position for 1 year.He became founding Chairman of Turkish Futurists Association in 2005. He has been serving as Honorary Chairman since 2008.Is the Honorary Consul General of Cambodia in Istanbul since 2005. In December 2009, he received the Commander of the Royal Order of Cambodia.

As an 'inovative and serial investor', he formed (or participated in joint ventures) with 30 different companies and persons, in 10 diffirent sectors/verticals. He peronally conducted more than 20 M&A discussions. Market values of the companies he created and/or acted as executive board member reached to $700 million with the revenues exceeding $4 billion.
